Danny Gokey says it's only a matter of time before his new recording contract is revealed.

"All I can say is there's good news.  That's all I can say. There's good news on the horizon," the American Idol eighth-season third-place finisher told the Allentown Morning Call in a Wednesday report.

"I've been told to keep my mouth kind of quiet about it. So that's our little secret. It's gotta be done properly; they're not going to start talking about it."

Gokey would be following in the footsteps of Idol eighth-season winner Kris Allen, runner-up Adam Lambert, and fourth-place finisher Allison Iraheta -- all of whom inked with 19 Recordings earlier this summer.

Allen, Lambert and Iraheta are all scheduled to have their post-Idol debuts drop this fall.

Gokey has reportedly been in talks with 19 Recordings and Sony Nashville, according to the Morning Call, which added he also met with Christian music label Word -- the president of which previously produced Idol fourth-season winner Carrie Underwood.

Gokey is currently participating in Idol's annual summer tour and dispelled recent rumors that he was also in the midst of recording an R&B album.

"No," he told the Morning Call about the rumors.  "I was embarrassed... that was completely false."
