Jason Castro is apparently turning to a soap opera to help promote his debut album.

The former American Idol seventh-season finalist will appear on a July episode of CBS' The Bold and The Beautiful, Entertainment Weekly reported Friday.

Castro will play himself and sing "Love Uncompromised" -- a track from his self-titled debut album, which was released in April.

The scene -- which will film this week -- will also involve The Bold and The Beautiful cast members Kimberly Matula and Zack Conroy, EW reported.

Castro finished fourth on American Idol's seventh season in 2008.

He isn't the first former American Idol finalist to appear on the CBS soap, as Constantine Maroulis was a The Bold and The Beautiful cast member in 2007.
