Erin Andrews has settled her lawsuit with the Nashville Marriott, bringing her case against the hotel and peephole stalker Michael David Barrett to a close.
The sportscaster and "Dancing with the Stars" co-host was awarded $55 million in March after a jury found Barrett and the owner of the Nashville Marriott at Vanderbilt University responsible for nude videos that were secretly shot of Andrews in 2008 that were posted online.
Barrett shot the video using his cellphone through the peephole on the door of Andrews' room. He had been able to find out her room number from the hotel, and to arrange to stay in the room next door to her.
Both rooms where in an alcove, out of view of the other rooms on that floor. While Andrews was out, Barrett had removed the peephole to her room, and cut out the threads, so it could easily be popped in and out.
He testified that when he heard her taking a shower, he removed the peephole, and put his cell phone up to the hole.Barrett was found 51 percent at fault, owing $28 million to Andrews while West End Hotel Partners, who operate the Nashville Marriott, were found 49 percent at fault, owing $26 million.
Andrews, however, pushed and filed papers claiming that the hotel owner and operator should pay the total in full, according to The Tennessean.
