Emily Maynard says The Bachelorette bachelor Chris Bukowski heard wrong when his father had suggested she was falling in love with him.

While Maynard made it clear she and Bukowski felt a strong connection from the very beginning of the competition, she has clarified that when she told Bukowski's father during hometown dates she felt love thus far in her The Bachelorette journey, she was talking about feeling love in general, not for Bukowski in particular, according to her People blog.

"As soon as we walked in I could feel the love that this family has and it couldn't have been sweeter. I was caught a little off guard when Chris' dad asked me if I felt love, but I told him the truth -- I wouldn't have been there if I didn't," Maynard explained.

"However, I was speaking about the experience as a whole, not knowing he would tell Chris I was falling in love with him, although I did have strong feelings for Chris. He has so many attributes that I look for in a husband and any girl would be lucky to have him! I had a really hard time sending him home, but wanted to stay true to the promise I made his sister that I wouldn't keep him away from his family if I didn't see him at the end with me."

In his own blog, host Chris Harrison elaborated on how detrimental it seemed to be for Bukowski that his father unintentionally relayed the wrong information.

"Is it just me or did Chris' dad kind of accidentally set his son up for the fall by telling him Emily said she was falling in love with Chris, when it turns out she never really said anything close to that?" Harrison said, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Despite the misunderstanding, Harrison seems to think Maynard and Bukowski probably wouldn't have worked out anyways because they were on different levels of maturity.

"The minute you saw Chris and Emily together you could tell there was just something a little off about them and their usual chemistry... Chris is twenty-five years young. Now, that's only a year younger than Emily but they are really in different places in their life. It didn't really seem in the end that Chris is ready to provide what Emily is looking for, especially when you stack him up against the three other men remaining," Harrison explained.

The three eighth-season The Bachelorette bachelors still remaining and vying for Maynard's heart are Jef Holm, Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Sean Lowe.
