British singer Joss Stone was chosen 2005 World's Best Dog Owner while hotel heiress Paris Hilton was named the worst by readers of a dog magazine.

The New York Dog Magazine and The Hollywood Dog Magazine released the results of its 3-month-long online poll Friday.

Stone, 18, emerged the victor over other celebrity canine lovers such as

Charlize Theron, Ashley Olsen and John O'Hurley for the annual title, the magazines said in a news release.

Hilton was the overwhelming choice for the finger-wagging title based on her fickle treatment of her Chihuahua, Tinkerbell.

"Our readers felt Ms. Hilton's dog-parenting skills left a lot to be desired," said Leslie Padgett, editor of The New York and Hollywood Dog Magazines. "First she loses Tinkerbell, then she ditches her for a cuter dog, then replaces that dog with a ferret, then a Kinkajou monkey and then, I gather, a goat. Recently Tinkerbell was spotted back in Paris' arms. But how long will she be in favor this time?"
