Derek Hough is returning to the Dancing with the Stars ballroom!

Derek, a six-time mirrorball trophy champion, wasn't able to compete as a pro partner on Season 24, but he'll be gracing fans with his presence for one night and one night only on the Monday, April 3 broadcast.

Derek and his sister Julianne Hough, a judge on the Dancing with the Stars panel, will dance a powerful routine together onstage.

The performance will serve as a follow-up to their Emmy Award-winning 2015 performance to "Elastic Heart," giving fans a taste of what they can expect when the duo hit the road for their upcoming national tour, Move Beyond -- Live On Tour, beginning April 19 in Akron, OH.

"Tonight Julianne and I perform an extension of our last piece we danced together 'Elastic Heart.' A Part 2 if you will. A very personal story that is dedicated to anyone who has gone through something difficult in their lives or is going through something currently," Derek captioned an Instagram video of the siblings rehearsing on Monday.

"This piece represents closure. If I could go back in time and tell my younger self in times of heart ache something, I would tell him that 'Everything is going to be ok.' And that's the message we hope to bring tonight. Everything is going to be ok. LET GO of the feelings and the meanings that don't serve you. And HOLD ON to what truly matters. Each other."

Julianne elaborated on what her upcoming dance -- set to the beautiful song "Unsteady" -- with Derek really means to the pair during an interview with TV Guide.

"It tells a story about our parents getting a divorce, and we have to be there for each other even though we feel pretty unsteady at the time, but we're going to be looking at our lives in this scene we're setting, as adult versions of ourselves. We have a resolve at the end," Julianne explained.

"We're in rehearsal and we're crying and figuring out our story behind it, it's not going to be super detailed in the dance moves but for us, it's so great because we know the meaning behind the specific moves, which was very similar to 'Elastic Heart.' For me, I love being able to choreograph and tell a story, it's amazing and really fun."

Both individuals can't wait to take the stage on Dancing with the Stars tonight, but Julianne confessed Derek's return is a little bittersweet for him.

"I think he's like, 'Oh man, there are some really great contestants on this season. I think it would have been fun to do that,'" Julianne said of her brother. "[But] we're keeping him busy for sure [with the tour]."

Dancing with the Stars' celebrity cast this season includes Heather Morris, who starred on Glee and also served as a backup dancer for Beyonce; Simone Biles, an Olympic gold medal-winning gymnast; and Normani Kordei, who performs around the world as a member of the girl-group Fifth Harmony.

There have also been a couple of surprises as far as talent goes when it comes to athletes Rashad Jennings and David Ross.
