Forget The Biggest Loser, Dancing with the Stars is apparently the place to go to drop those unsightly pounds quickly.

Just ask eighth-season contestant David Allan Grier, who entered the show not expecting to drop much weight at all.

"I've actually lost 26 pounds," the 53-year-old actor told Us magazine following last night's performance show. "The first day I came in, I was like, 'I'm not going to lose weight - we're waltzing!'"

However, Grier said the show's intense daily dance practices with professional partner Kym Johnson -- which include "three hours of aerobics" and "using your core" -- have combined with strict a diet of egg whites, fruit, yogurt to result in the weight-loss.

Johnson added that Grier's initial thoughts about not losing weight while dancing were anything but true.

"You're burning a lot more calories because you're actually moving your whole body, as opposed to doing just weights," she told Us.

As for Grier's future on the show -- he and Johnson scored a 22 for their Lindy Hop on the live performance show -- the comedian joked that viewers needed to keep him around a little bit longer, if only so he could accomplish a personal goal of his.

"I have to stay in to lose four more pounds," he told Us, "and then you can kick me off."
