Dancing with the Stars host Tom Bergeron has announced Season 26 of the ballroom dancing competition will only air in Fall 2018 instead of this coming spring.

While it's not clear what ABC -- whose upcoming slate of new shows includes The Bachelor Winter Games, Dancing with the Stars Junior, and its American Idol revival -- will be airing in Spring 2018 instead of a regular Dancing with the Stars season, Tom announced the show still has something in store for fans.

"There will be a mini-Spring season (4 Weeks). Not DWTS Junior. More info Tuesday," Tom tweeted on Monday ahead of Dancing with the Stars' Season 25 finals.

After questions and comments poured in from concerned fans on Twitter, Tom elaborated, "Season 26 of @DancingABC will be next Fall."

The show host added, "The 4 week mini-season in the Spring is a bite size, spray tanned spinoff."

No further details regarding Dancing with the Stars' "mini season" (Dancing with the Stars' spring seasons typically air for about nine weeks) have been released.

ABC will have a full plate of reality shows come the new year, as The Bachelor's 22nd season starring Arie Luyendyk Jr. premieres Monday, January 1 at 8PM ET/PT and then the franchise's Winter Games spinoff is scheduled to air in February.

A month later, American Idol will return to television on Sunday, March 11 at 8PM ET/PT.

The network also announced in May that Dancing with the Stars Junior had been ordered as part of ABC's 2017-2018 season programming.

At the time, ABC revealed Dancing with the Stars Junior will pair celebrity kids with professional junior ballroom dancers to perform choreographed routines in front of a judging panel of renowned ballroom experts.

Tom, however, confirmed that the show's "mini season" will not be the Dancing with the Stars Junior spinoff, which was initially slated to premiere in the spring as well.

Dancing with the Stars' currently airing 25th season will wrap on November 21 with either internationally-recognized violinist Lindsey Stirling, actor and race car driver Frankie Muniz, Property Brothers star Drew Scott, or actor and singer Jordan Fisher being crowned champion.
