Colton Underwood apparently doesn't fault Hannah Brown for keeping Jed Wyatt around on The Bachelorette despite some early warning signs, such as Jed's admittance he had signed on for the show to boost his music career.

"It's hard," the Season 23 The Bachelor star told Us Weekly.

"When you're in the moment and you're in the position like Hannah and I were as the leads, you almost have blinders on to any external distractions in that relationship, because you just, you don't really think about it."

Colton's girlfriend Cassie Randolph was accused of being on The Bachelor for the wrong reasons because she had attempted to quit the show and admitted she wasn't ready for an engagement.

Colton, however, fell in love with Cassie regardless and ignored the red flags -- similar to what Hannah has been doing with Jed.

"You don't think, 'Oh, maybe Jed has a girlfriend back at home,'" Colton told Us.

Not only did Jed inform Hannah he wanted to appear on The Bachelorette for the platform -- a revelation Hannah found honest and candid at the time -- but his alleged ex-girlfriend Haley Stevens publicly came forward claiming the country singer left to tape the show still dating her and promised to resume their romance upon his return to Nashville, TN.

Haley recently told People that Jed texted her, "I love you," before and after his plane landed in Los Angeles, CA, and he ghosted her once filming concluded.

"They got to that point in the show, so you assume, the vetting and everything, they're an eligible, single person, so that doesn't even really resonate," Colton said of Jed's situation regarding the alleged girlfriend back home.

Colton defended Hannah in saying The Bachelor or The Bachelorette star has so much on his or her plate during a season that it's difficult to pick up on warning signs.

"You don't see red flags when you're dating 30 people. You're focused on a lot of other things and you're producing a show. You're putting a show on," Colton explained to the magazine.

"You already have enough things to worry about that that shouldn't even be a thought in the back of your mind."

If allegations against Jed turn out to be true and Hannah picks him in the end, Colton said he believes Hannah -- who competed for Colton's heart on The Bachelor earlier this year -- will make the right decision.

"If it is the case, I have the confidence that Hannah is a strong enough person to know what's best for her. I mean, she's a grown woman," Colton said.

"She's proven that time and time again on the show, and I have all the faith in her for doing what she needs to do to make herself happy."

Colton has already made it known he's not a big fan of Jed either way and the bachelor "should just sort of go away." Colton also told Access earlier this month it would be really "messed up" of Jed if Haley's accusations are accurate.

In addition to Jed, the two other bachelors still in the running for Hannah's final rose are Tyler Cameron and Peter Weber.

The Bachelorette finale is set to air as a special two-night event on Monday, July 29 and Tuesday, July 30, with both broadcasts airing from 8-10PM ET/PT.
