Big Brother featured the Head of Household Sarah Beth Steagall nominating Derek Frazier and Claire Rehfuss for eviction, before Alyssa Lopez won a "High Roller's Room" game and completely switched up the nominees during Sunday night's Season 23 episode on CBS.

At the Nomination Ceremony, Sarah Beth, a 27-year-old forensic scientist from Boiling Springs, SC who currently resides in Fort Myers, FL, decided to nominate Derek F., also known as "Big D," a 29-year-old safety officer from Philadelphia, PA, as well as Claire, a 25-year-old artificial intelligence engineer from Chagrin Falls, OH who currently resides in New York, NY.

However, Alyssa, a 24-year-old swimwear designer from Sarasota, FL, won "Chopping Block Roulette" and decided to remove Derek F. from the chopping block.

Alyssa spun a roulette wheel to determine the replacement nominee, and the ball landed on Xavier Prather, a 27-year-old attorney from Kalamazoo, MI, who joined Claire on the block.

At this point in the Big Brother season, there is a majority "Cookout" alliance in the house comprised of Derek F.; Xavier; Kyland Young, a 29-year-old account executive from San Bernardino County, CA who currently resides in Venice Beach, CA; Tiffany Mitchell, a 40-year-old phlebotomist from Detroit, MI; Hannah Chaddha, a 21-year-old graduate student from Chicago, IL; and Azah Awasum, a 30-year-old director of sales operations from Baltimore, MD.

Each member of "The Cookout" alliance has an unsuspecting righthand man or ally outside of the group. Kyland has Sarah Beth, Xavier has Alyssa, and Tiffany has Claire.

Hannah has Derek Xiao, a 24-year-old start-up founder from Baltimore, MD who currently resides in New York, NY, and Azah and Derek F. both had Britini D'Angelo, who got evicted from the game last week.

The Cookout's next targets were Claire and Derek X., with Derek X. being the biggest target and "biggest known threat" in the house.

The Big Brother broadcast began with Sarah Beth winning Head of Household on Day 44 of the game, and she was so excited to become the first female Head of Household in the house.

Sarah Beth celebrated in the pantry with Kyland, but the "Cookout" was upset one of their own wasn't able to ascend into power. Hannah didn't trust Sarah Beth at all and said it was going to set her game back.

Although Kyland had become very tight with Sarah Beth, he said his priority was to keep all the members of the "Cookout" safe and so he'd be in her ear throughout the week.

Kyland almost immediately told Sarah Beth his preference would be to see Claire and Derek X. nominated, with one of them going home. Kyland, however, pretended like he would support any decision Sarah Beth chose to make.

After Azah was shown missing Azah and crying, Tiffany sat down for a conversation with Azah and said Sarah Beth's victory was pretty much worst case scenario.

"I wanted to be HoH with Sarah Beth on the block, and now I'm probably going on the block," Tiffany lamented.

Xavier felt pretty safe because he and Sarah Beth had established a good rapport while they were on the "Kings" team together, but Derek X. wasn't feeling confident considering he had nominated Sarah Beth for eviction during his previous Head of Household reign.

The house, however, was anticipating some unpredictable changes in the near future due to the "High Roller's Room."

"Whoever the winner of [the next game] 'Chopping Block Roulette' is, they get to remove a nominee from the block and they're also safe as well," Alyssa explained of the upcoming twist.

"And then the winner gets to spin a wheel to figure out who the replacement nominee will be. You could spin the wheel and your No. 1 ally could be sitting on the block."

Meanwhile, Derek F. and Tiffany weren't getting along great and so Derek F. tried to bury the hatchet and fix their relationship for the sake of their alliance.

The pair had argued in the past when Tiffany felt Derek F. had ambushed and attempted to intimidate her during what was supposed to be a private girl-on-girl conversation with Claire. Derek F., on the other hand, thought Tiffany had copped an angry tone with him.

Tiffany told the cameras it didn't seem like Derek F. had any respect for her in the house, but Derek F. -- who claimed Tiffany was "acting like a fool" and he had done nothing wrong -- tried to keep the situation under control and remain level-headed.

Sarah Beth then shared with Kyland how she felt good with Claire and Tiffany but not her former teammates Alyssa and Xavier, who had made her feel like she was on the bottom of the totem pole.

Kyland tried to convince Sarah Beth to stay away from Xavier, and her goal was to make sure the "Chopping Block Roulette" power would be used this week so she wouldn't be up against two powers next week when she's unable to be Head of Household.

Alyssa definitely planned to play the game because she believed she only had one true ally left in Xavier, and Sarah Beth spoke to everyone else privately about playing "Chopping Block Roulette."

Claire then spoke to Derek X. about how she wanted to target Xavier, and Claire and Derek X. were starting to question if Xavier and Tiffany were aligned, maybe with several other players such as Derek F., Kyland and Hannah.

Derek X. was onto the "Cookout," and Azah said she had no idea where Sarah Beth's head was at.

Sarah Beth then told Kyland that she was most scared by Derek X., Alyssa and Xavier. Kyland hoped to sway Sarah Beth towards nominating Derek X., and so she said there was no way that Xavier was gunning to get her out.

Sarah Beth pointed out how it would make the most sense to backdoor Derek X. so that he wouldn't play hard to win the Power of Veto as an initial nominee. She therefore considered putting two pawns on the block, such as Derek F. and Azah or Claire, Hannah or Tiffany.

At the Nomination Ceremony, Sarah Beth announced she had decided to nominate Claire and Derek F. for eviction. Sarah Beth said the week was complicated due to the "Chopping Block Roulette" twist being in play and her choices were not personal at all.

Sarah Beth's main target, however, was Derek F. because she thought he was smarter and more athletic than her.

"It's okay if we have one member of the six up there for now," Kyland said, adding how two members of "The Cookout" however could not end up on the block together.

Tiffany said she wasn't ready to lose Claire but she had no BB Bucks to play "Chopping Block Roulette." Hannah also didn't want to say goodbye to Derek X., but she confirmed "The Cookout" was still her main priority.

Hannah therefore didn't want Derek X. to play the roulette game so that he couldn't win safety and save a nominee of his choice. A part of Derek X. wanted to save his money for the next game, which comes with a bigger reward, but he began to worry about being backdoored.

The "High Roller's Room" then opened and houseguests stepped in one at a time to learn how many BB Bucks America had awarded each of them. "Chopping Block Roulette" cost $125 BB Bucks to play.

Claire received $100 BB Bucks but didn't have enough to play roulette, Azah earned $50 and did not have enough money to play, Hannah received $75 BB Bucks and racked in $150 BB Bucks. Hannah, however, chose to save her money in order to play "Coin of Destiny" next week.

Xavier received $75 BB Bucks, making his total $150 BB Bucks, and he chose to pocket the cash and save it for later.

Sarah Beth was given $50 BB Bucks and couldn't play, and Tiffany also earned $50 BB Bucks for a total of only $75 BB Bucks.

Alyssa received $75 BB Bucks for a total of $125, and so she opted to play the game.

"Chopping Block Roulette" required Alyssa to stand and balance on a circular platform while attempting to roll a ball around the table or wheel as many times as possible within two minutes.

The houseguest with the highest score would win safety and be able to remove someone from the chopping block. The replacement would be chosen by the spin of a wheel.

Kyland only received $50 BB Bucks and couldn't play, but Derek F. -- who had a total of $150 BB Bucks thanks to his reward of $100 BB Bucks this week -- chose not to play even though he could.

Derek X. received $100 BB Bucks for a total of $200, but Kyland had tried to convince him not to play. In the end, Derek X. decided to save his money for "Coin of Destiny" so he could potentially make a big move next week without getting blood on his hands.

The house then learned Alyssa had won the roulette game, and so she won safety for the week and decided to take Derek F. off the block with her power.

The houseguests were not privy to any additional information, such as who opted to play the game and how much money each houseguest had left.

When Alyssa spun the wheel, it landed on Xavier, her one friend and ally whom she didn't want to see get nominated. Alyssa felt extremely low and ran into one of the bedrooms crying.

Xavier said it's not fun to be nominated but he wasn't going to back down from a challenge. He planned to go hard for the Veto and save himself, but that didn't make Alyssa feel any better.
