A Canton, Mass., judge issued an arrest warrant for singer Bobby Brown, who reportedly missed a child support hearing because he was hospitalized.

Brown's lawyer said the singer was in a hospital in Atlanta, WCVB-TV, Boston, reported.

"He's no different than any other person who appears before me," Norfolk County Judge Paula Carey said Wednesday in issuing the arrest warrant. "He has an obligation to search for employment and get employment, and he needs to do it and fulfill his obligations."

Brown, who is married to singer Whitney Houston, had been ordered to set up a $176,000 college fund for two children he had with onetime girlfriend Kim Ward.

Last year, he was jailed one day for failing to pay child support.

Brown has had a host of legal troubles, including a drunken driving conviction and charges for allegedly hitting Houston.
