ABC revealed in a commercial that aired during Monday night's Dancing with the Stars broadcast that former American Idol hopefuls Layla Spring, Shawn Robinson and Logan Johnson -- who didn't quite make the finals cut on their prior Idol seasons -- will battle it out for one golden ticket to Season 18's Hollywood Round during this year's American Music Awards.

"There's only one stage that brings the best of music together -- the American Music Awards," ABC teased in the commercial for the annual awards show, which will air Sunday, November 24 at 8PM ET/PT on ABC.

"And during the show, we're giving past American Idol contestants a second chance to make their dreams come true. They'll perform songs by AMA-nominated artists."

America's votes will determine which of the three singers will get to compete in Season 18's Hollywood Round of the new American Idol edition, which will premiere on ABC in February 2020.

While American Idol's nationwide auditions for the upcoming season have already wrapped, Season 18's Hollywood Round has not been filmed yet.

As the commercial aired, footage of Layla, Shawn and Logan performing onstage flashed across the screen.

"The winner will be revealed live next Monday on the Dancing with the Stars finale on ABC," the network concluded.

Dancing with the Stars' finale will air November 25 at 8PM ET/PT.

ABC had announced initial details about the American Idol Season 18 special second-chance competition in a press release the network released earlier on Monday.

"As a part of the upcoming contest, three fan-favorite artists from past seasons of ABC's American Idol will sing their hearts out in a recorded audition piece from Los Angeles' iconic Whiskey a Go Go," the network said.

"Their performances will then be shown during the broadcast of the 2019 American Music Awards, after which viewers will have the opportunity to vote their favorite singer through to Hollywood by visiting www.americanidol.com/vote."

Voting will remain open through Monday, November 25 at 1PM ET/PT.

Layla auditioned for American Idol's sixteenth season in 2018 as a 16-year-old high school student from Marion County, KY. She was eliminated when the Top 14 contestants were decided by judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.

The judges later ousted Shawn, who auditioned as a 22-year-old hardware store associate from Atlanta, GA, and Logan, who tried out as a 20-year-old golf shop attendant from Boise, ID, from Idol's seventeenth season earlier this year when contestants were being narrowed down to the Top 14 again.

As previously announced, Katy, Luke and Lionel will return to American Idol as the judges for Season 18.

Ryan Seacrest will also reprise his role as host of American Idol, and country music radio personality Bobby Bones will once again serve as the in-house mentor for the Season 18 contestants.

American Idol is produced by Fremantle and Industrial Media's 19 Entertainment with Trish Kinane, Jennifer Mullin, Megan Wolflick, Eli Holzman, and Aaron Saidman serving as executive producers.
