After a long round of auditions, America's Got Talent judges Howie, Simon Cowell, Melanie "Mel B" Brown and Sofia Vergara narrowed down the hopefuls to just 44 acts.

During the quarterfinals, 11 acts will perform in each episode for America's votes on Tuesday nights, with the results being announced on Wednesday nights.

The acts who took the stage during the first episode of the quarterfinals were singer Ashford Sanders, singer Brook Lynn, choir CommUNITY ATL, comedian Cris Sosa, Hundred Fingers, mentalist duo James and Marina, tumblers Jesse White Tumbling Team, rapper Luke Taleno -- who was Howie's other Golden Buzzer -- dog training act Olivia Befus, dancers Sando, and dance trio Royal Lasers.

Before Hundred Fingers took the stage led by Yu Hojin, Yu explained to the cameras, "I auditioned by myself in Season 17, but Simon said, 'It's not big enough.' I was eliminated in the final."

"I knew I needed something really special to return to AGT," the magician continued.

"I went to train a magic super group -- something [people] have never seen before -- and that's exactly what I created."

While the group received Howie's Golden Buzzer during the initial auditions round, Yu said, "The job is not done. Now we have huge pressure to do better."

Yu went on to explain how his group have been practicing and rehearsing "a minimum of 15 hours, six days a week."

"We are pushing ourselves to the limit because this is the most difficult magic we have ever done. I want redemption! That's why we are here," Yu noted.

Hundred Fingers' quarterfinals performance included changing ribbons, fans and masks into confetti; controlling a flying ribbon with a magic wand; making items completely disappear; and turning a tiny flame into a big fire.

Before the judges could even speak praise, Howie enthusiastically hit the Golden Buzzer.

"They are going straight to the finals!" AGT host Terry Crews yelled.

When asked why he pressed the Golden Buzzer "for the second time" for Hundred Fingers, Howie responded, "That was the best thing I've seen. One word: magic!"
