Adam Levine has officially been crowned People magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive" for the year 2013.

"As a musician, you have fantasies that you want to win Grammys, but I didn't really think that this was on the table," the 34-year-old The Voice coach and Maroon 5 frontman told People in its latest issue on which he graces the cover.

"I was just amazed and stunned and it almost seemed like they were kidding, but they weren't, so that's cool."

Levine opened up a little bit about himself to the magazine, saying he loves to be naked, cries at movies -- for example, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial -- and maintains his toned body with yoga and spinning. The singer is also apparently excited to settle down with new fiancee Behati Prinsloo, a 24-year-old Victoria's Secret model.

"I didn't think marriage was for me for a long time," Levine explained. "I was ready when I was ready. That's about as simple as it could possibly be."

As for his ever-growing success in the music industry and on NBC's The Voice, Levine told People he's very thankful and appreciative.

"This is just a really interesting time where everything seems to be heading in a certain direction," Levine added. "And I'm not taking any of it for granted."

Gossip Cop reported late last week Levine would receive the honor of "Sexiest Man Alive," but People declined comment at the time and Levine played coy when asked about the title during a Friday appearance on the Today show.

"I don't believe you," Levine joked when Today co-host Savannah Guthrie acknowledged the rumors. "I'm just as excited [as] you to see who they choose."

The Voice host Carson Daly also brought the news to light during Tuesday night's results broadcast.

"Adam, there's been a lot of speculation. Your name has come up recently. Is he 'the guy?' Are you 'the man?' And I have it on good authority now, and I hate to do this live to just confirm this for everybody, but yes, congratulations, you are People magazine's 'Sexiest Man Alive,' sir. Congratulations," Daly revealed as he held an issue of the magazine in his hands.

"It is confirmed, ladies and gentleman, here tonight -- live on The Voice. Our own coach, Adam Levine, look at that! Look at that hunk! 'Sexiest Man Alive!' Sorry [fellow coach Blake Shelton] it didn't work for you buddy... Didn't mean to put you on the spot [Adam]."

"Carson, you just had that made. That's not really true, man," Levine joked. "I feel fantastic. I feel sexy!"

Shelton, Levine's "bromance" buddy, then had another thing to say about Levine's sexy new honor.

"Do you know why I drink so much now? This is why I drink so much. He stole my thunder!" Shelton announced. "Adam, I know you're now 'Sexiest Man Alive,' but I want you to know that I think you're beautiful for what's on the inside."

Levine began dating Prinsloo last year, and after a brief split in late spring, the couple reconciled and got engaged in July. The Maroon 5 rocker has served as a coach on The Voice since its inception five seasons ago.
