Leida and Eric have received strong backlash and hate on social media for their alleged behavior on 90 Day Fiance's currently-airing sixth season, to the point where Leida has received death threats, according to In Touch Weekly.

Local police officers reportedly responded to Leida and Eric's home in Baraboo, WI, last month because of all of the threats they were receiving online.

"An officer was dispatched because Leida received threatening messages through social media," Chief of Police Mark Schauf confirmed to In Touch.

"The officer gave them advice and counseled them on what they could do to ensure their safety."

According to the couple, all of the negative attention has persuaded them to quit the reality series when their contracts are up.

"I'm updating about the case only in my private account. No we won't be on the next season. [90 Day Fiance's production company Sharp Entertainment] doesn't care about the death threats. We will deal [with] everything on our own," Leida wrote in an Instagram Stories posting, adding that she did not stage death threats for sympathy or publicity.

"If I made those death threats by myself, I wouldn't let the authorities involved. Whoever says, 'Boohoo Leida. This is on you,' thank you so much and I pray you will never experience the same way like I have."

Leida concluded, "My son doesn't deserve to be killed or kidnapped. I keep it real. I never lie. I value honesty and I hope it will help me at the court later."

Leida and Eric did not pursue any charges at the time of the police filing, according to the magazine, but they did request extra security at their home.

However, threats and insults reportedly worsened after the latest episode of 90 Day Fiance in which Leida was shown complaining about Eric paying child support and kicking his 19-year-old daughter Tasha out of their shared Wisconsin apartment once and for all.

"I don't care if I'm going to be the evil stepmother. If that will make [my son] Allessandro have a better life, then it's worth it... I'm not a crazy b-tch. I have reason!... I'm taking control," Leida told the cameras in Sunday's episode.

In an Instagram Live video clip shared on a 90 Day Fiance fan page this week, Leida tearfully elaborated on how she and Eric are done with the show and claimed TLC is responsible for their bad edit.

"We put our lives in danger. We put our lives on the front line. This is not fair. This is not worth it at all. We are never going to do this again, I'm telling you guys, we are never going to do this again. No," Leida said, bawling her eyes out.

"I swear to God, once the contract is done, we will reveal everything that they never showed on the show. How could people [wish me to] die? This is not fair. I'm a human too. I never signed up for this, we didn't know they're going to portray us that bad."

Eric sat behind Leida and nodded his head the entire time until he told the cameras himself, "And TLC is not going to do anything about it, of course."
