The Price of Beauty will follow Simpson as she travels around the world to meet ordinary women and local pop-culture icons to examine fashions, dietary fads and beauty regimes.

In addition, Simpson will also participate in some "extreme practices in order to reveal what constitutes beauty in these foreign cultures," according to VH1.

Simpson traveled to Japan, Thailand, France, Brazil, Uganda, Morocco and India for the series before returning to home to Los Angeles.

VH1 ordered The Price of Beauty last June and subsequently began filming the next month.

The Price of Beauty is being produced by RDF USA, with Simpson, her father Joe, Chris Coelen, Claire O'Donohoe and Greg Goldman serving as executive producers.

Simpson and her ex-husband Nick Lachey starred in their own MTV reality series -- Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica -- almost immediately following their October 2002 wedding.  However they separated in November 2005 amidst various rumors they had already lost interest in each other and eventually filed for divorce.
