A representative for Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey says US Weekly's cover story saying the famous couple is kaput is "simply not true."

"Nick and Jessica have not separated," a rep for the stars of MTV's "The Newlyweds" told E! Online Wednesday. "Rumors to the contrary are simply not true."
Jessica's father, Joe Simpson, echoed the denial saying articles reporting a rift in his daughter's marriage are "not true," E! said.
Simpson and Lachey have their third wedding anniversary coming up Oct. 26.
Friday's issue of US Weekly pictures the couple on the cover and blames Simpson for the alleged breakup, promising to reveal how "her ego, her partying and her dad drove them apart."
