TLC orders new Atlanta edition of 'Say Yes to the Dress' reality show

By Christopher Rocchio, 03/24/2010

TLC announced it has ordered Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta, an Atlanta edition of its Say Yes to the Dress reality series that will take viewers inside one of the south's largest bridal salons.

Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta will follow the staff at Bridals by Lori, as the business -- which sees roughly 10,000 brides annually pass through its doors -- celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.

TLC has ordered 12 half-hour episodes of the spinoff, which will be produced by North South Productions.

The network also announced that Say Yes to the Dress' fifth season, which will continue to follow brides-to-be as they search for their perfect wedding dress at New York's Kleinfeld bridal salon, will premiere Friday, April 23 at 10PM ET/PT.

"Say Yes to the Dress has become a signature Friday night show for us," said TLC programming executive Nancy Daniels.

"We're excited to be able to expand this successful franchise into a very different market with its own unique characters. Just as viewers fell in love with the brides and staff at Kleinfeld, the everyday happenings at Bridals by Lori gives a southern twist to this already familiar and extremely popular format."

Say Yes to the Dress is produced by Half Yard Productions for TLC.
