TLC has announced it has ordered additional episodes of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo as well as three holiday specials.

In addition to the additional regular episodes, the network has ordered Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas specials of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, which follows beauty queen Alana Thompson and her family and has averaged 2.3 million viewers since its premiere early August.

"Here Comes Honey Boo Boo has become a pop culture phenomenon," TLC general manager Amy Winter said in a statement.

"What you see is what you get and we are excited to share even more of Alana and her family's unbridled hilarity, sincerity and love with our viewers."

Last night's TLC broadcast of an one-hour special entitled "It Is What It Is" marked Here Comes Honey Boo Boo's first-season midseason finale. The series chronicles Alana, her stay-at-home mom June, her chalk-mining father Sugar Bear, her 12-year-old sister Lauryn "Pumpkin," her 15-year-old sister Jessica "Chubbs," and her 17-year-old sister Anna "Chickadee."

Here Comes Honey Boo Boo is produced by Authentic Entertainment.
