TLC has announced Date My House, a new home-makeover reality show hosted by former The Bachelor fourth-season star Bob Guiney, will premiere on Saturday, April 5 at 8:30PM ET/PT.

Each half-hour episode of Date My House will follow Guiney as he works with a homeowner who is "desperate" to sell their current house and willing to do whatever is necessary to get the job done.  Aided by design expert Nadia Geller, Guiney and the Date My House team will use the latest decor and staging techniques to entice potential buyers.

Once the makeover is complete, potential buyers will get acquainted with the house in a comfortable setting before a prospective buyer is selected and given the opportunity to become more familiar with the home, whether it be via a quiet overnight stay of dinner party with friends and family.

Each Date My House episode will conclude with the prospective buyer deciding whether or not the featured home is right for them.

"Today, mortgages can last longer than marriages, so people need to be absolutely sure when making this huge commitment. This new trend in house 'dating' gives you a chance to really know if it is your perfect match," said TLC programming executive Brant Pinvidic.  "The real estate market today is so tough, and it's important that we give our viewers these surprising ideas that they can to make their house a hot property."

Guiney appeared on the original season of ABC's The Bachelorette before Trista Rehn decided he wasn't rose-worthy. He later returned as the star of The Bachelor's fourth season in Fall 2003 and narrowed his field of 25 suitors down to Estella Gardinier, but the two broke-up shortly after the show aired.

In July 2004, Guiney married All My Children actress Rebecca Budig, who also hosted ABC Family's reruns of Guiney's The Bachelor edition.

Most recently Guiney hosted CMT's Trick My Trucker, a Trick My Truck spin-off that premiered last November and followed truckers in need of both physical and emotional life changes.

Date My House will air regularly in TLC's Saturdays at 8:30PM ET/PT time slot and serve as the lead-in for new episodes of Trading Spaces at 9PM, followed by Moving Up third-season episodes at 10PM.
