Bob Guiney, former 'Bachelorette' suitor, to star as ABC's next 'Bachelor'

Extra TV reports that ABC surprised the showbiz world on Tuesday morning when the network revealed the Bob Guiney, a former bachelor suitor on Trista Rehn's "The Bachelorette," will be the next bachelor to star on its "The Bachelor" program.

Susan Lyne, president of ABC Entertainment, says the Michigan-based mortgage broker and one-time lead singer of the band Fat Army was an obvious choice for the hit series. Stated Lyne, "the idea of bringing in someone who has real personality, who is funny, who is charming, who is self-deprecating had appeal."
