NBC has announced Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys will join The Voice's team of coaches for this fall's eleventh season of the reality singing competition.

Cyrus and Keys will serve on The Voice panel alongside coaching mainstays Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, who will continue in their roles for Season 11 when it premieres in September 2016.

"The musical expertise and energy these two incredibly talented women will bring to the show is remarkable," NBC reality chief Paul Telegdy said.

"We're thrilled that they'll be joining Adam and Blake in what we know will be a magical 11th season."

The Voice's eleventh season will mark the first time two women have been part of the four-person panel.

Cyrus and Keys both have previous ties to The Voice. Keys served as a mentor for coach Pharrell Williams on Season 7, while Cyrus served as the key advisor to all four coaches for the tenth season's already-filmed Knockout Round episodes which will begin airing on NBC next week.

The Voice currently features Christina Aguilera and Williams appearing alongside Levine and Shelton on its tenth-season coaching panel.

Aguilera served as an original The Voice coach alongside Levine and Shelton but took a few seasons off -- Seasons 4, 6 and 7 -- to focus on her music career and her personal life before returning for Season 8.  When Aguilera was gone, she was replaced by Shakira on Seasons 4 and 6, and Gwen Stefani on Season 7.

Stefani then replaced Aguilera again on this past fall's ninth season of The Voice, during which she and Shelton began dating.

Williams has been a coach on The Voice for the last four seasons.  Prior to Williams' The Voice addition in Season 6, CeeLo Green and Usher had filled his big red coaching chair. Green served as a coach in Seasons 1, 2, 3, and 5, with Usher replacing him for Seasons 4 and 6.
