Paris Hilton has filed a federal lawsuit in Los Angeles to shut down a subscription-based Web site and get her personal possessions returned.

The site, launched Jan. 23, offers viewers willing to pay $39.97 a chance to check out Hilton's diary entries, passport, phone and email contact, medical records, credit card receipts, personal photos and selections from her videotape library, Eonline.com said.

Hilton's lawsuit called the site "one of the single most egregious and reprehensible invasions of privacy ever committed against an individual."

A statement on the Paris Exposed Web site said the collection was purchased in a November 2005 public auction after the heiress failed to pay a monthly fee for a storage facility where the items were housed.

In the suit filed Monday in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, Hilton claimed Nabil and Nabila Haniss bought the items at auction and eventually sold them to Badria Persa, who created the Web site. Hilton claimed that her representatives tried to buy back her belongings, but the offers were rejected.

Hilton's suit said she and her sister leased the storage unit in 2004, shortly after they moved from their Los Angeles-area home following a burglary.
