Yolanda Martinez, her son-in-law Adolfo Arreola, and Arreola's cousin Jason Gomez filed a lawsuit in New York State Supreme Court on Monday alleging that The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice popped a bottle of champagne and sprayed it all over Martinez's face, causing a chaotic brawl, The Associated Press reported Monday.

In addition, Martinez and her relatives reportedly claimed Giudice and her fellow cast members attacked and beat up Arreola and Gomez on February 23 in Punta Cana.

According to The AP, Arreola and Gomez signed a settlement contract shortly after the incident that gave them $25,000 and covered up to $12,000 in medical expenses, but the lawsuit claims they only agreed to the terms in order to return home and ultimately chose not to cash the checks.

The filings claims the champagne "caused severe eye irritation" for Martinez, and Giudice allegedly "laughed at, mocked, humiliated, insulted, and physically approached" the plaintiffs, People reported Tuesday.

The family also reportedly alleges that Giudice's fellow cast members Joe Guidice, Albert Manzo, Albie Manzo, and Christopher Manzo stepped in and fought Arreola and Gomez "without provocation."

"They stomped on them -- kicked them. It was all brute force," Tom Demetrio, the plaintiffs' attorney, told People. "And there were no criminal repercussions because the D.R. police arrested no one. That's what's upsetting."

According to People, the lawsuit is seeking unspecified damages for physical injuries from The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast members, Bravo, the show's production company, and the Hard Rock Hotel.

Bravo representatives reportedly refused to comment.

According a prior RadarOnline report, Giudice started the altercation unintentionally when she sprayed a bottle of champagne while having fun with her family and friends. However the champagne reportedly soaked not only Martinez, but her husband -- who then allegedly punched Giudice in the face -- resulting in Giudice's husband Joe and fellow The Real Housewives cast members immediately coming to her defense.

"Joe, Albie and Chris were trying to protect Teresa and they just grabbed the guy and started fighting, and then people joined in. Bravo helped to break up the fight," the source said at the time, adding that the fight quickly grew out of hand as more parties then reportedly joined the public display and got physically involved.

According to Dominican Republic authorities, Gomez suffered a broken leg and scratches on his face, while Arreola had a broken arm. Some other participants were allegedly only slightly injured with bruises, RadarOnline reported.
