Ozzy Osbourne says he is "well overdue" for a new studio album and getting back into the studio is one of his priorities this year.

The "Prince of Darkness," who is being inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in New York next week, also tells Billboard.com he is still working on his musical "Rasputin."

"It's something I've always wanted to do," he said of the historical musical. "It's gonna be drama, I suppose."

Osbourne says he is ready to start writing material for a new album with guitarist Zakk Wyle.

"I've gotta get a studio album this year," he said. "I'm well overdue."

The last set of new songs from the duo was the 2001 album, "Down to Earth."
