The CW has announced a nationwide search for the mother-daughter teams that will compete in Crowned: The Mother of All Pageants, a new reality series that will require mothers and daughters to work together to win a beauty pageant.
Open casting calls will begin on Saturday, March 3 in Orlando, FL and continue the following next week in Raleigh, NC; Decatur, IL; Dallas, TX; Tempe, AZ; Montgomery, AL; Memphis, TN; and Hendersonville, NC. Daughters must be at least 18-years-old and previous pageant experience is not required. In addition to attending one of the open casting calls, interested mother-daughter teams can also apply through a video submission.
First announced in mid-January, the eight-episode Crowned will feature mother and daughter teams from across America competing in all aspects of a traditional beauty pageant while testing the strength of their relationship. Three judges will oversee the competition, which, according to The CW, will also include an as of yet unannounced "celebrity mother-daughter pair." The series will end with one team being "crowned" winner, entitling them to a prize package that includes a $100,000 cash award, representation to appear at charity events across the country and a pair of tiaras.
