The Bachelorette host Chris Harrison has claimed fans don't know everything about the way Clare Crawley's season played out, calling the turn of events on Season 16 "bizarre."

During an interview with Extra, Season 13 The Bachelorette star Rachel Lindsay asked Harrison if his "blown up" statement was premeditated or totally off-the-cuff.

"Those lines -- you can't plan for them," Harrison said, adding, "It's just something that came in the moment. That's how I felt."

When asked how exactly Clare had blown up The Bachelorette season, Harrison teased, "That, you'll have to watch and see."

"Oh, come on!" Rachel replied with a laugh. "You can't throw a bone out to an old friend?! Come on."

Chris went on to say, "I will say this: I know people say, 'Oh, we kind of know everything. We know how this is going to go.' You don't. It is just bizarre."

He continued, "This is how crazy it is -- I am excited to go back and watch because I'm not even sure how it's all going to seemingly play out."

Harrison said The Bachelorette's sixteenth season, which is also expected to co-star Tayshia Adams, is so different from seasons past on "many levels."

Harrison rattled off the following list: how production shot the show, where The Bachelorette filmed, what it took to pull everything off, Clare having to sit on the bench for six months and wait, and recasting men because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Harrison finally teased how the events that unfolded on the show were also unprecedented.

"It's explosive, as I say, in the promo," Harrison noted.

The Bachelorette's sixteenth season is set to premiere Tuesday, October 13 at 8PM ET/PT on ABC, pending the schedule of the NBA Finals.

It's been widely reported Clare fell in love with bachelor Dale Moss, a 31-year-old model and former college basketball and football player from Brandon, SD, just 12 days into filming the season and quit the show as a result.

A source previously told Life & Style that Clare, a 39-year-old hairstylist, even "refused to come out of her room" at one point to film dates with other men.

Clare therefore allegedly ended The Bachelorette process early in order to pursue a serious relationship with Dale, and so producers were left "scrambling" and "frantic" in terms of how to proceed with the show.

Clare, who is now reportedly engaged to and still in love with Dale, was ultimately replaced by The Bachelor alum Tayshia Adams.

News of Tayshia's participation first shocked the world on July 31 when a spoiler about her replacing Clare was posted on Reddit and then Reality Steve spoiler blogger Steve Carbone tweeted there was "some serious validity" to the posting.

ET subsequently confirmed on August 3 that Tayshia was the new star of The Bachelorette but Clare's short journey to find love will also be featured on the show when it airs this fall.

Harrison wouldn't confirm Tayshia took over for Clare on Season 16 during his interview with Extra, but Tayshia was spotted filming the show earlier this summer.

Harrison also recently teased on Instagram, "It's safe to say this season will be twice as good as any other!"

ABC formally announced Clare's official cast of 31 bachelors for Season 16 this week, but it remains unclear how many of those men stayed on the show to date Tayshia once Clare departed and whether new guys were brought to the Palm Springs resort for the 30-year-old phlebotomist.

The Bachelorette had apparently gathered and quarantined a whopping 42 men back in July in case multiple men ended up testing positive for COVID-19 and couldn't compete for Clare's heart.

The Bachelorette's new season was originally supposed to have begun filming in March and premiered on May 18, but global health restrictions in light of coronavirus had shut down nearly all Hollywood productions.
