Temptation Island couple Kate Griffith and David Benavidez, who split in the show's finale after David was unfaithful multiple times, have announced they're back together.

During the show's reunion special, Kate and David were clearly trying to work things out, but trust issues and betrayals left a cloud above their relationship, and it wasn't clear whether Kate could truly forgive David for his mistakes and move on.
"I took a break from social media to spend time enjoying the holidays with family & loved ones... it was MUCH needed! After letting you into a small glimpse of my life in an unrealistic & inorganic environment on Temptation Island, I've decided I owe no one answers as to decisions that I've made," Kate captioned a series of photos with David in which they looked happy together in matching Christmas pajamas.
"AFTER cameras stopped rolling, REAL life resumed, time & space WERE taken, and REAL conversations were had between David and I! The more negative & judgmental comments I receive the less I really care to tell my side of the story. The negativity, LIES, clout chasing, and drama that surround the show are extremely disappointing!"
She continued, "As a viewer, you saw a glimpse -- a VERY VERY small one at that -- into my life, who I am, and where my life is headed. Temptation Island will NEVER define WHO I AM as a person or WHO David is... We ARE soooo much more than what 'reality' tv has shown!"
"Temptation Island isn't a movie with a beginning and an end... these are OUR REAL LIVES and OUR LIVES CONTINUE... You can continue to follow and see how things unfold or you can simply unfollow us if you disagree with our decisions. Wishing you a Happy & Healthy New Year... and one full of LOVE,' Kate concluded.

Around the same time, David posted four lovey-dovey photos of the couple kissing and holding each other on his own Instagram account.
"I have taken quite a bit of time away from social media to deal with a lot of personal things going on in my life and I truly appreciate everyone's support in comments and dm's it means a lot!!" David wrote alongside the images.
"With that said, Kate and I do not owe ANYONE an explanation of our personal lives outside of the show and the decisions we make. The 'reality' show does not accurately depict any of the cast members or any of the couples' relationships. We are all characters playing the 'roles' that go with the storyline and I've already repeatedly addressed what unfolded on the show."
David went on to share, "Now that we are in the real world, the amount of absurd lies and rumors thrown out there by certain individuals needs to be addressed and addressed one time only."

"It's clear that there are some cast members who have bruised egos as they were rejected both on the show and after the show and are now showing their true colors by resorting to saying ridiculous things about Kate and I in an attempt to get back at us and try to extend their 15 minutes of 'fame,'" he added.
David explained it would be ridiculous to attempt to dispel each individual rumor one by one.
"But Kate and I both want to move on with our lives. If for some reason you elect to believe those bitter cast members then please do us and yourself a favor and unfollow us and stop taking the time out of living YOUR own life to leave negative comments on our pages!!" David requested.

"At the end of the day, no one besides our inner circle knows the type of people Kate and I truly are and what our relationship has truly been like. Kate and I have some exciting things in the works and we are looking forward to a happy and healthy 2020! I wish the same for everyone who reads this!"
On Temptation Island's latest season, which wrapped earlier this month, Kate struggled to gain confidence and move on from her three-year relationship with David although she watched him shower with and kiss women at bonfire meetings.
David also formed a strong emotional connection with single Toneata Morgan and told her that he'd move from Hoboken, NJ, to Los Angeles, CA, so they could be together.
David and Toneata also had sex during an overnight date at the end of the season, and he told the blonde beauty he was falling in love with her.

However, by the time the reunion special taped, David and Toneata's romance was over and she accused him of using her. It therefore appeared Kate and David were trying to work things out despite lingering trust issues.
Kate, for example, was startled to hear an allegation David had slept with Samantha Hoffman after the show filmed. (Samantha was the girl whom David had showered with at the island).

David denied the claim, but Kate felt so embarrassed that she walked off the set crying.
"Kate and I have been physical, but that's it... I'm just trying to work on Kate and I and... figure ourselves out," David shared.
Kate apparently hoped David had grown from his experience and mistakes on Temptation Island, but she wasn't so sure he'd ever become the man she deserves and needs him to be.
But despite it all, Kate still seemed madly in love with David, and he didn't appear willing to let her go.
