Sean Lowe "so sincere" as 'The Bachelor' star, says Chris Harrison

Sean Lowe is apparently taking his new role as The Bachelor star very seriously, according to host Chris Harrison.

"I think people are really going to like him because he's so sincere. He really is looking for that someone and that makes it fun for everyone," Harrison told Us Weekly on Sunday of the former The Bachelorette bachelor who competed for Emily Maynard's heart.

"Sean's doing great and his choices and decisions so far have been really good. He's handling it really well."

Harrison insisted that because Lowe is serving as the Bachelor, the show's upcoming seventeenth season -- which is nearing the end of filming and is scheduled to premiere in early January -- won't be all about fun and partying but rather real emotion and deep connections.

"It's not a crazy, 'let's get drunk, let's get naked' type of season because that's not Sean. [The Bachelor] really does take the shape of the character and that's not him... When you get to know the guy, he's very well read, very intelligent, a very smart guy," Harrison explained, adding that the Southern gentleman is searching for a woman with solid character.

"He's not looking for a Southern belle per se, but he's looking for a lady: someone who respects herself and her family... He really wants to find love. His mom and dad have been married for many, many years and they're sort of the role model he's looking for."

Although Lowe, 28, may be looking for a woman who keeps her clothes on, Harrison told Us that female viewers can rest assured Lowe won't be doing the same.

"Yes, he has his shirt off a lot," said the host. "It'll be an interesting season."
