By Steve Rogers and Christopher Rocchio, 03/22/2007
The Sci Fi Channel has announced that it has extended Ghost Hunters' third season and renewed the reality show for a fourth season.
The fourth season of Ghost Hunters, a reality series that follows paranormal "ghostbusters" and real-life plumbers Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson as they investigate hauntings and bizarre occurrences and challenge skeptics across the country, will run for 13 episodes and debut in 2008.
In addition, Sci Fi has also announced that Ghost Hunterswill "round out" its third season with six extra episodes that will premiere later this spring and six additional episodes that will debut this fall (Ghost Hunters began its third season with six episodes that were originally broadcast last fall).
Also, on October 31, Sci Fi will broadcast its "second annual" Ghost Hunters Live Halloween night special. Similar to last fall's first Ghost Hunters Live special -- a live 11PM to 5AM ET/PT Halloween night broadcast that showed the Ghost Hunters team investigating the Stanley Hotel that served as the inspiration for Stephen King's "The Shining" -- the 2007 live special will allow home viewers to follow a live investigation and report their own paranormal sightings via a "live interactive panic button."
Produced in association with Pilgrim Films and Television, Ghost Hunters is executive produced by Craig Piligian and Thomas Thayer.
