"My daughter is getting married the 15th of October, but I can promise you, I will look good on the dance floor for her," the former Texas governor and ex-presidential candidate said upon learning his fate. "And I am doing it for all of the veterans out there and I hope everyone will find a great veterans' cause to go help these guys. We've got one called Advance the Colors that I hope everyone will go take a look at. Thank you guys!"

Still in the running for the coveted, mirror-ball trophy are Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds and Allison Holker; Marilu Henner and Derek Hough; Laurie Hernandez and Valentin Chmerkovskiy; James Hinchcliffe and Sharna Burgess; Calvin Johnson Jr. and Lindsay Arnold; Terra Jole and Sasha Farber; Jana Kramer and Gleb Savchenko; Ryan Lochte and Cheryl Burke; Maureen McCormick and Artem Chigvintsev; Amber Rose and Maksim Chmerkovskiy; and Vanilla Ice and Witney Carson.

Jake T. Austin last week became the first celebrity of the season eliminated from the dance competition.

The ABC series features Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews as co-hosts, while the judges' panel includes Len Goodman, Julianne Hough, Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba.

Andrews was out this week so she can spend time with her boyfriend who suffered a death in his family.
