Reverand Al Sharpton now has some interest in taking up Dancing with the Stars on its previous offer.

After turning down offer to appear on this fall's edition of the ABC reality dance competition, Sharpton says that, with the 2008 Presidential Election coming to a close, he may be interested in participating in the show's next season.

"I turned down Dancing with the Stars last season because I was committed to do voter registration ...this is a very important election. So, I may do it next season," Sharpton told TV Guide in a Friday report.

This summer, Sharpton had said that he had been asked to participate in both this fall's Dancing with the Stars and this winter's second edition of The Celebrity Apprentice (which began taping in New York earlier this month), but had turned them down in order to focus on election as well

"This is a serious election," Sharpton told the New York Daily News in July. "I don't want to be dancing with the stars when I should be protecting the vote."
