With sales of his latest "Press Play" album having tapered off since it debuted at No. 1 back in October, Sean "Diddy" Combs has reportedly approached American Idol producers about appearing on the Fox mega-hit's sixth season.
"Press Play" was released on October 17, 2006 and was Combs' fist album in four years. Despite reaching No. 1 during its first week on the charts and featuring a variety of collaborations with the likes of Christina Aguilera, Nas, Mary J. Blige, Jamie Foxx, Brandy, and others, the album apparently hasn't received the recognition in recent weeks that Combs had hoped for. "Nothing has an impact on sales like Idol -- not even Oprah," Combs' friend told OK!. Idol representatives told OK! they "aren't aware of Diddy's proposal" at this time.
