NBC is currently in talks to revive the reality competition series and air it as part of the its programming lineup next summer, a network source toldEntertainment Weekly in a Wednesday report.
NBC reality programming chief Paul Telegdy wants to relaunch Last Comic Standing with a few format changes -- including a new host to replace Bill Bellamy, who helmed its fifth and sixth seasons, according to EW.
Its sixth and final season -- which aired in Summer 2008 and was won by Iliza Shlesinger, its first ever female champ -- averaged 5.2 million viewers during its broadcast run.
