Dewyze, the American Idolninth-season champ, has inked a recording contract with 19 Recordings Limited and RCA Records, while Bowersox, the ninth-season runner-up, has signed with 19 Recordings Limited and Jive Records, Billboardreported Thursday.
The American Idol winner and runner-up traditionally have their debut albums released around Thanksgiving -- just in time for pre-holiday sales.
Dewyze's first single -- a cover of U2's "Beautiful Day -- and Bowersox's rendition of Patty Griffin's "Up to the Mountain" were released on iTunes and radio on Thursday.
