Report: ex-Paula Abdul beau J.T. Torregiani may be next 'Bachelor' star

By Christopher Rocchio, 07/03/2008

J.T. Torregiani could apparently be going from Paula Abdul's arms to serving as The Bachelor's next object of affection.

The 33-year-old nightclub owner and ex beau of the American Idol judge is reportedly in talks to star in The Bachelor's thirteenth installment, People magazine reported, according to The New York Post.

"[Torregiani] was asked [to star in The Bachelor] a couple of years ago, but he got together with Paula so he didn't do it," People reported, according to The Post.

Torregiani and the 45-year-old Abdul first met last April following an Idol taping and began dating as the sixth-season wrapped its broadcast run last May.  The couple moved in together last October and continued dating before calling it quits last month.

Now single, Torregiani -- who is a partner in The Dolce Group, the Los Angeles restaurant group that was co-founded by Big Brother second-season houseguest and All-Stars winner Mike "Boogie" Malin -- is apparently reconsidering being The Bachelor's next star.

"He wants to settle down, have kids, have a family," People reported, according to The Post.

The Bachelor's thirteenth season is currently slated to air as part of ABC's 2008-2009 midseason primetime programming lineup.
