Asia Nitollano said she felt like the Pussycat Dolls were "the group for me" after she was crowned the newest member of the all-female dance troupe/singing group during the spring finale of The CW's Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll.

Nitollano has "decided to do a solo career" rather than become the newest member of the Pussycat Dolls, The CW entertainment president Dawn Ostroff told reporters attending the Television Critics Association's summer press tour on Friday, according to Minnesota's The Star Tribune newspaper.
"It was totally her call," Ostroff told reporters, according to the Star Tribune.
While Nitollano was crowned the winner of Pussycat Dolls Present in late April, the first-season finale was not live and she quit only after the pre-taped broadcast aired, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Monday.
In the months after the finale, the six members of the Pussycat Dolls repeatedly performed without Nitollano, The Hartford Courant reported Saturday, and her absence was particularly obvious during the group's high-profile Live Earth London concert performance on July 7.
According to Ostroff, Nitollano was never contractually obligated to join the Pussycat Dolls.
Back in May, The CW had announced plans to air a second Pussycat Dolls Present edition as part of the network's 2007-2008 midseason schedule but remained quiet on the show's format. However early last month, Pussycat Dolls founder and choreographer Robin Antin had revealed that rather chronicling the search for yet another Pussycat Dolls member, Pussycat Dolls Present's second season will feature the creation of an all-new, all-girl trio named Girlicious.
Ostroff confirmed those reports at the press tour -- nine contestants will compete on Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious, which will premiere in January as a midseason replacement on The CW, according to The Courant, which also reported that first season judges Antin; Geffen Records chairman Ron Fair; rapper Lil' Kim; and choreographer Mikey Minden will all return for the new season.
