Nick Viall's The Bachelor journey was said to be a dream late last month, but according to a new insider, it's actually a nightmare.

Season 21 of The Bachelor wraps filming later this month, and an insider claims Viall turned out to be a poor choice for the leading role.

The bachelorettes "find him to be completely arrogant and a total diva," the insider told In Touch Weekly.

Several cast members are reportedly so turned off by Viall's behavior they asked producers to leave the show prematurely.

"Three out of the Final 4 girls have been thinking about quitting the show since the beginning," alleged the insider, adding that those women aren't the only ones questioning Viall's intentions and character.

"A lot of the girls think Nick isn't taking the process seriously, that he only became the Bachelor to hook up with multiple women."

While a source told Us Weekly in late October that Viall's season will be "one of the best seasons ever" and he is "finding love for real," the In Touch insider insists the opposite.

"There will be explosive fights -- and Nick will once again look like a fool," the insider noted. "Nick sheds many tears this season and it's due to the fact that the girls pretty much turn on him."

Chris Harrison recently confirmed Viall had an emotional breakdown while filming his season, however, the host called the Bachelor "a really good guy" who's been doing "a good job."

Viall was picked to be the next The Bachelor star after two heart-breaking stints on The Bachelorette and one appearance on Season 3 of Bachelor in Paradise that ended with a failed romance.

Viall fully intended to propose to both Andi Dorfman and Kaitlyn Bristowe on The Bachelorette's tenth and eleventh seasons, but both women dumped him for other men whom they got engaged to.

During his time on Bachelor in Paradise, Viall dated Jennifer Saviano, but the couple split on the finale because he wasn't in love with her. Viall acknowledged his walls were up and his heart was guarded because he feared getting hurt and embarrassed on national television again.

The Bachelor is set to debut on Monday, January 2, 2017 at 8PM ET/PT.
