Singer/actress Jessica Simpson Friday filed for divorce from her husband, singer Nick Lachey, in Los Angeles Superior Court.

In the divorce petition posted on the Web site TMZ.com, Simpson cited "irreconcilable differences" as her reason for ending the three-year marriage.
The couple -- whose first two years together were documented on the MTV reality show "Newlyweds" -- announced their split in a statement issued Thanksgiving Eve.
