MTV's Domenico Nesci-led 'That's Amore' spin-off to debut March 2

By Christopher Rocchio, 02/15/2008

MTV has announced That's Amore, a new A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila reality dating series spin-off starring spurned Italian suitor Domenico Nesci, will premiere Sunday, March 2 at 10PM ET/PT.

That's Amore will follow the Milano, Italy-native as he whittles down a group of 15 American women who will compete against one another in various challenges -- from pillow-fighting contests to spaghetti-wrestling matches -- in an attempt to win his heart.

Nesci appeared as one of 16 straight men vying for Tequila's heart during MTV's Fall 2007 A Shot at Love reality dating series, which saw the bisexual model select 25-year-old film student Bobby Banhart as the winner.

While it is still unclear whether Tequila or Banhart were responsible for the split, the two broke-off their romantic relationship shortly after the finale aired.  MTV has since renewed A Shot at Love for a second season starring Tequila.

Prior to That's Amore's premiere broadcast, MTV will air Domenico's Passport of Love on Sunday, February 24 at 10PM ET/PT.  The half-hour special will include highlights from Nesci's favorite A Shot at Love moments; why he feels he's a "great catch" for ladies who appreciate his sense of humor; and a "love letter" to his home country.

A Shot at Love, MTV's first The Bachlelor-like serialized reality dating show, was the network's highest-rated series telecast for 2007.

That's Amore is executive produced by A Shot at Love producer SallyAnn Salsano for 495 Productions. David Gross and Drew Tappon are executives in charge for MTV.  In addition, MTV has signed a multi-series production commitment with Salsano and her 495 Productions.
