MTV announces 'Life of Ryan's second season to premiere January 8

By Christopher Rocchio, 12/13/2007

MTV has announced Life of Ryan's second season, which will continue to follow 17-year-old professional skateboarder and teen heartthrob Ryan Sheckler, will premiere on Tuesday, January 8 at 10PM ET/PT.

Life of Ryan's first season -- which premiered in August -- gave viewers a look at how Sheckler balances his job as a professional skateboarder while trying to be a normal teenager. Making matters more difficult, Sheckler's parents divorced last year so also he serves as the man of the house for his two younger brothers, Shane and Kane.

Life of Ryan's second-season will follow Sheckler as his eighteenth birthday approaches and he prepares for high-school graduation; takes a more active role in his various business ventures; and prepares to move out on his own for the first time.  He's also still trying to keep in touch with his childhood friends -- Tony, Casey and Taylor -- while frequently living on the road.

Life of Ryan's second-season premiere will serve as the lead-in for the third season debut of MTV's Rob & Big reality series, which follows the unlikely friendship of professional skateboarder Rob Dyrdek and his personal bodyguard Christopher "Big Black" Boykin.  Rob & Big first premiered on MTV in November 2006, and its second season aired last spring.

Jason Carbone serves as executive producer for Life of Ryan, with Sarah Kane serving as the co-executive producer. Michael Powers and Lauren Dolgen are the MTV executives overseeing the project.
