NBC’s hit relationship series “Meet My Folks” returned to the schedule triumphantly last night in a special Monday preview that generated the network’s highest non-sports rating among adults 18-49 in the Monday 10-11 p.m. ET hour since May 3, 1999 (“Noah’s Ark, Part 2”). Although a "CSI: Miami" repeat led the 10PM hour in total viewers, “Meet My Folks” ruled the hour in virtually all key demographic categories, beating the combined ABC-CBS competition among adults 18-34 and women 18-34.
According to preliminary “fast affiliate” in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research, last night’s “Meet My Folks” (6.7 rating, 16 share among adults 18-49, 13.6 million viewers overall) achieved series-record results in the 18-49 and total-viewer categories. “Folks” won the hour by a commanding 34 percent margin among adults 18-49 (6.7/16 vs. 5.0/12 for CBS’ second-place rebroadcast of “CSI: Miami”).
Meet My Folks” will air regularly Saturdays at 10PM ET starting January 25 and will get another special preview Tuesday, January 21st at 10PM ET. The hit series debuted last summer in the Monday 10-11PM ET hour, where it averaged a 5.2/14 among adults 18-49 and 10.7 million viewers overall. That made “Folks” respectively the No. 3 and No. 10 series of the summer in those categories.
