"Lost" 'Simple Life' episode remains lost to viewers, places fourth in timeslot

Perhaps FOX should have quit when it was ahead with The Simple Life. Or at least not have attempted to air the program outside its previous successful Tuesday timeslot.
Featuring footage that was culled from the editing room floor and DVD release's extra features, the lost episode of the Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie "reality-sitcom" performed poorly as a special 8:30 PM ET lead-in to Monday's second episode of My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance, placing fourth in its timeslot and drawing just over half as many viewers as the 9 PM Fiance broadcast that it was supposed to support.
According to preliminary Nielsen ratings, FOX's ninth (and final?) The Simple Life episode drew only 7.7 million viewers and a 3.7/9 rating/share in the Adults 18-49 demographic -- figures that placed it well behind the 18 million viewers and 7.7/19 Adults 18-49 numbers that NBC's Fear Factor drew in winning the hour.
Despite having its Simple Life lead-in plan backfire, FOX's My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance managed to still perform well for the network, drawing 13.3 million viewers and a 6.2/14 in Adults 18-49.
