Kristin Cavallari and ex-fiance Jay Cutler are reportedly reconciling.

The couple is "working it out," a source told People.

"They're not officially back together but they're definitely talking and figuring things out."

The 24-year-old former The Hills star and Cutler -- who got engaged in April after just seven months of dating -- called off their engagement in July, reportedly leaving Cavallari "dumped," "absolutely devastated" and "in shock" over how the dream wedding she was planning for the spring had ended.

While Cavallari and the 28-year-old NFL quarterback's previous relationship had moved too quickly, according to People, the couple has been taking a different approach to dating this time around.

"Everything happened too fast when they first got together. So this time they're taking things slow," the source said.

Cutler and Cavallari -- the thirteenth-season Dancing with the Stars contestant who also appeared on Laguna Beach, MTV's The Hills predecessor, while she was in high school -- reportedly haven't gotten to spend much time with each other due to their hectic schedules, but "they're talking a lot."
