Fox has formally announced Kardashian and Lopez will serve as The X Factor's new co-hosts when the reality competition's live performance and results shows begin airing next month.

"The worst kept secret in Hollywood is out," The X Factor creator and judge Simon Cowell said. "Mario and Khloe are our hosts. They will debut on our first live show in November and I couldn't be happier."

"I'm so thrilled to become a part of The X Factor family," Kardashian said. "I've been a big fan of the show and look forward to working with Simon and all of the judges. It's going to be so much fun!"

"I'm very excited to be joining The X Factor team," Lopez added. "I love the show, and I've been a big fan of Simon Cowell and the judges for a long time. Khloe and I have been friends for years and I know we'll be a great team and have a blast."

Reports that Kardashian, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians and Khloe & Lamar star, had emerged as the frontrunner to serve as the new female co-host of The X Factor began surfacing last month and been followed by similar reports about Lopez, who currently serves as the host of Extra.

While Steve Jones ended up hosting The X Factor's first season solo after the show decided to have original co-host Nicole Scherzinger replace Cheryl Cole on its judging panel, Cowell had repeatedly said the second season would feature an entirely new male and female hosting team.
