The 20-year-old model and "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star shared her complicated feelings about her dad's transition with Vogue after landing the magazine's coveted September cover.

"It's superironic to think about now, but it's something I can thank my dad for: how much of a tomboy I was," Jenner said.

"That's why I think the whole thing -- her transition -- was really hard for me, because I was like, 'But you taught me everything tomboy!'"

"I knew it was going to have its rough phase," she admitted. "But it's all supernormal now. It's not weird at all. Sometimes I look at a picture of my dad when she was a guy, and it makes me a little sad -- I get emotional."

"You have to get past it," the star advised. "You've got a new person to love. It's kind of a blessing in disguise -- if that's not the wrong way to say it."

Caitlyn confirmed she's transgender in April after months of speculation.

Jenner previously likened the change to a death while discussing her family's "adjustment" period with Women's Wear Daily.

"It's been a ride, for sure," she confessed. "It's something that you have to get used to. But I've known since I was a kid. He never confirmed it to me, but I've known for a very long time."

"It's the same person," the star said.

"My dad says it herself sometimes, it's kind of like mourning the loss of someone, because it is. My dad is my dad, but he's not there physically anymore. But she lets me call her dad -- that's the last little piece of dad I've got."

Caitlyn admitted in an interview last week that she considered suicide during an uncertain time in her transition.

The Olympic champion said her life today is "so interesting" and "simple" now that she's openly transgender.
