Kellie Pickler and Julianne Hough to host ABC's 'CMA Music Festival'

By Christopher Rocchio, 06/09/2008

It will be a reality-star studded event when former American Idol fifth-season finalist Kellie Pickler and two-time Dancing with the Stars professional champ Julianne Hough join country artist Taylor Swift to host CMA Music Festival: Country's Night to Rock, which will air Monday, September 8 at 9PM ET/PT on ABC.

"The summer's hottest concert special just got hotter with the addition of these three beautiful, talented performers as hosts," said CMA executive Tammy Genovese. "They are all America's sweethearts and I know they will each add sparkle and fun to a great night of musical performances."

The two-hour special filmed last weekend during the annual CMA Music Festival -- a four-day country music celebration held at Nashville's LP Field.

In addition to Pickler and Swift, country artists who performed at the event included Celebrity Apprentice runner-up Trace Adkins; Nashville Star sixth-season host Billy Ray Cyrus; Idol fourth-season champ Carrie Underwood; original Nashville Star finalist Miranda Lambert; Nashville Star sixth-season judge and mentor Jewel; Rodney Atkins; Faith Hill; Alan Jackson; Sugarland; Josh Turner; and Dwight Yoakam, among others.

ABC's CMA Music Festival: Country's Night to Rock will include both musical performances and a variety of behind-the-scenes footage from the festival.  This marks the fourth time ABC will broadcast the event.
