Kate Gosselin is apparently sick of people asking about her love life, and even though she's single, the years since her divorce from Jon Gosselin have best the best of her entire life.

In a preview clip for Kate Plus 8's "The BIG Four Oh!" special airing Tuesday night at 10PM ET/PT on TLC, Kate enjoys a 40th birthday dinner with her best friend DeAnna and vents about questions the media constantly brings up.

"I want people to stop asking me if I'm dating," Kate said decisively in the promo obtained by People.

"I would like that to end. Don't they realize after five years that offends me and it's annoying?... It's a reminder that here I am, it's just me... So stop asking!"

Kate said she'd like to date but that still doesn't change the status of her current situation.

Kate had eight children with her ex-husband Jon, who is reportedly trying to work as a deejay now. They went through a very public, bitter and painful divorce in 2009.

"This has been the greatest five years of my life," Kate told her friend.

So when reporters want to bring up Jon all the time, Kate can't stand it.

"Don't talk to me about ex situations," noted Kate. "I don't define myself with that."

Kate also said during her dinner with DeAnna that her goals "haven't changed" in terms of raising her kids.

"My ideas haven't changed; My parenting hasn't changed. I'm just doing it alone now," Kate explained. "[And] I want my kids to grow up and be each other's best friends."

Kate previously starred on the seventh season of The Celebrity Apprentice and also competed on Dancing with the Stars. After her split from Jon, Kate had been linked to her bodyguard Steve Neild and philanthropic millionaire Jeff Prescott. Neither of those relationships lasted long enough to get serious.

Jon had been dating Liz Jannetta, with whom he appeared on VH1's Couples Therapy, but they've since split.
