Kanye West has been hospitalized for a "psychiatric emergency" after allegedly acting "erratically."

According to a 911 call between responders, authorities were called to the home of West's trainer Harley Pasternak in Los Angeles on Monday night because he was acting "erratically," TMZ reported.

The 39-year-old rapper -- who has made headlines in recent days for ranting about Jay Z, Beyonce and Hillary Clinton, as well as suddenly canceling 21 concert dates of his Saint Pablo tour -- was reportedly restrained and then transported to UCLA Medical Center for psychiatric evaluation.

One source has revealed West "feels like he's under spiritual attack," People reported.

"He is exhausted and currently dealing with sleep deprivation. He went to the hospital at will under the advise of his physician. He's fine," the source explained.

"Sometimes, darkness creeps in, and Kanye wrestles against it. He talks about that a lot. It's exhausting, and it takes everything he's got. He's just so tired now; he's very low energy and feels like there's a grieving in his spirit. It's very hard to explain, but something has happened recently, where he's not the 'Ye that everyone knows.'"

In addition to alleged exhaustion, West has been trying to support his traumatized wife Kim Kardashian ever since she was robbed at gunpoint in her Paris hotel on October 3. However, the source claims West has also been struggling with "smaller, quieter, internal things."

One of the "subtle issues" is reportedly the anniversary of his mother Donda's November 2007 death at the age of 58.

"He feels like it's a trying time for his spirit, but that can be a good thing. He isn't one to run away from these things. He leans in and listens, and comes away a stronger, better man. But it hurts him; his spirit is vexed. But that's where growth comes from," the source added.

Kardashian was expected to make her first real public appearance since the robbery on Monday night at the Angel Ball in New York City, but she reportedly skipped out on the special event honoring her father, the late Robert Kardashian, to be at West's side.

Kardashian was spotted boarding a private plane in Los Angeles on Sunday with her mother Kris Jenner and sisters Kourtney and Khloe to travel to NYC, however, after news broke of her husband's breakdown and hospitalization, she headed back to LA.
