The 18-year-old -- who became Idol's youngest winner ever last Spring -- will kick-off the 30-date North American tour beginning April 19 in Hampton, VA.
Sparks performed the national anthem at Super Bowl XLII in her native Glendale, AZ earlier this month; won the Outstanding New Artist award at the 39th NAACP Image Awards last week; and also performed at the NBA All-Star game in New Orleans over the weekend.
Sparks' self-titled debut album dropped last November at No. 10 on The Billboard 200 album sales chart, selling only 119,000 copies during its initial week of release. Last week, Sparks' debut jumped from No. 53 to No. 44 on The Billboard 100 -- presumably due to her Super Bowl appearance on February 3. The album has sold a total of 491,000 copies since its release.
In addition, her first single "Tattoo" has been in the Top 10 on Billboard's Pop 100 Airplay singles chart for close to two months and her second single "No Air" -- a duet with Chris Brown -- is in the Top 20 on Billboard's Pop 100, Pop 100 Airplay and Hot Digital singles charts.
